Advanced Technology

When you choose Affinity Dental in Louisville, KY, for you and your family’s oral health care, you choose a dental experience like no other. We perform our services and treatments by utilizing advanced technology, making your visit more comfortable and convenient than ever before. Below you will find more information regarding our technology and how it may be used in your next appointment.

CBCT Scanner

The CBCT scanner is a radiographic system utilized in our office for producing 3-dimensional imaging of our patient’s entire oral structure. This includes the teeth, jaws, and tissues supporting and surrounding the patient’s facial anatomy.

Our CBCT, or cone-beam computed tomography system, may be used to diagnose and identify the following:

Using this scanner can also prove useful in preparing for implant surgery; because the system generates 3D visuals, our dentists can determine the exact location where the implants will be placed before they begin surgery.

CEREC® Machine

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic) allows patients to spend less time at the dentist and more time enjoying life with a beautifully restored smile! When one of our patients requires a dental crown due to injury, severe decay, or cosmetic enhancement of their tooth, our CEREC machine gets them in and out of our office in just one day.

Using CEREC machinery, there is no need for multiple visits to the dentist or paying the price for a temporary crown. Most patients have to attend at least two or three visits before receiving their permanent crown, but at Affinity Dental, we follow a quick and straightforward process:

Digital Impressions

The days of taking dental impressions with messy clay are long gone; at Affinity Dental, we use intraoral optical scanning devices to take impressions of our patient’s teeth. This device is small enough to comfortably be placed in the patient’s mouth and is slowly moved around to create clear video imaging of their teeth or overall bite.

This imaging can be enlarged and closely examined by the dentist and patient so that troubled areas can be better identified and patients can see what their teeth look like. The imaging is also able to create an exact replica of the mouth, much more accurate than traditional impressions!

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays give us a closer look at the health of your teeth both above and below the gumline. Thanks to digital advancements, x-rays are now more accurate and convenient than ever before!

Laser Dentistry

One of the most innovative advancements in modern dentistry is the dental laser, which can provide precise, painless treatments or surgical work without direct contact with the teeth or oral tissues. This reduces the need for sedation or anesthetic during most invasive procedures, keeping patients more comfortable and significantly simplifying the treatment process. Laser dentistry can be used to perform the following:
